State-Of-The-Art Security Monitoring Technology
Metro Alarm & Lock provides 24/7 monitoring from its local, Central Monitoring Station. Metro Alarm & Lock can monitor security and fire panels in a variety of ways and our service model allows us to customize a solution for you using an integrated approach.
Still Using a Digital Dialer?
The standard fire digital dialer requires “analog” telephone lines for communication: the burglar alarm system operates on one telephone line and the fire alarm system requires two telephone lines to meet the fire code. Many new phone systems installed today no longer use outdated analog lines. They have digital lines (DSL) or a cable modem (VOIP). However, neither DSL nor VOIP lines are permitted to be used with fire panels because line supervision is not possible and during a power outage you lose the phone lines altogether. Furthermore, commercial analog telephone lines are costly and, with fire panels, the monthly cost doubles.
Update to Internet Monitoring with Metro Alarm & Lock.
Internet Monitoring is a significant improvement. The panel is tied into your network and alarms are sent with the same technology used to send an email. Unlike a standard digital dialer that only sends a self-test signal once every 24 hours – with Internet Monitoring, your panel is polled by Metro Alarm’s Central Station no less than once every 6 minutes.
With Internet Monitoring from Metro Alarm & Lock you get system integrity – and peace of mind — similar to Grade AA monitoring commonly used in the banking and other high security applications.
Metro Alarm & Lock is a UL Listed fire alarm service company and our panel, with on-board Ethernet connection, is also listed by Underwriters Laboratories for use in the following:
- UL Fire Communicators
- UL Bank, Safe, and Vault
- UL AA High Line Security
- UL Encrypted High Line Security
There is no extra telephone line cost required with Internet Monitoring; and the panel can be used for security, fire, and access control. If there are several locations they all can be networked for ease of use.
Enjoy the Convenience of Cellular Monitoring by Metro Alarm & Lock
Our cellular transmitter operates anywhere your standard cell phone works. Once the cellular transmitter connects to a nearby cell tower, the signal is then relayed through the Internet to the receiver at our Central Station. The cellular transmitter is also routinely polled by our central station. For fire alarm systems this polling takes place a minimum of once every 5 minutes to meet the fire code.
Our Cellular transmitter has the added advantage that it can also send alarms and open and close signals to your cell phone via text messaging. You can also arm, disarm, and check on the status of your security system with your cell phone. Cellular monitoring is a very popular way of monitoring fire and sprinkler systems in commercial shopping centers and strip malls. The property manager saves money by not having to pay for analog phone lines or an Internet line.
Step Up to Metro Alarm & Lock’s Two-Way Radio Monitoring
Metro Alarm’s integrated two-way radio system features transceivers — radios that both transmit and receive. Alarm and control signals are sent between your panel and Metro Alarm’s Central Station via a radio signal. The radio frequency is restricted by the FCC for use only by security companies, thus maintaining the integrity of our system.
The system operates independently of the Internet and cell towers and eliminates the use of telephone lines, providing an unparalleled level of security. Installed transceivers across the metro provide a secure, redundant wireless network. Each radio can receive an alarm signal, then instantly relays the radio signal to another, and so on until it reaches the Central Station—like an email without Internet. It is these multiple paths that increase the security and dependability of the radio network.
Fire Monitoring via Radio has become very popular with our commercial clients.
