Meet the Metro Alarm & Lock Team
James L. Hoeppner, Chief Executive Officer
Jim has many years of experience in the alarm industry and founded Metro Alarm & Lock in 1970. He has been involved in the community in a variety of ways, including charter president of The Prior Lake Optimist Club, president of the Minnesota Burglar and Fire Alarm Association, and president of the National Security Dealer Network (1997 to 2010). He also served six years in the Naval Air Reserve and has been chairman of the board of directors of his church. Jim has a degree in electronics from St Paul Technical College and has attended a numerous management and Dale Carnegie sales classes.
Jim is a member of the Minnesota Street Rod Association and he and Kathryn have several vintage automobiles. During the summer, their cabin becomes a frequent destination for recreation and relaxation.
Kathryn M. Hoeppner, Chief Financial Officer
Kathryn has been part of the company since 1974. While her area of expertise is bookkeeping, she is also knowledgeable in many other areas of Metro Alarm & Lock’s business activities.
Jennifer Blomberg, President
Jennifer manages the payroll, accounts payable, and maintains the banking relationships for Metro Alarm & Lock. She has a degree from the University of Wisconsin–River Falls.
Thomas R. Bonwell, Vice President of Operations
Tom started working in the alarm industry in 1984 and spent four years employed at Control Data prior to beginning his career with Metro Alarm & Lock. He has an electronics degree from Brown Technical College and has attended countless factory training classes, including CardKey, DSX, Ademco, Radionics, Napco, Dictograph, FBII, DSC, Secutron, Mirtone, DMP, Galaxy Control Systems. Tom has numerous certificates through the NBFAA and is currently working on his NICET Level III.
Judy Borchardt, Sales and Marketing Manager
With more than 30 years in the security industry, Judy’s experience and commitment to providing phenomenal customer service is why Metro Alarm & Lock is the preferred security provider. Judy has served on the board of directors of the Minnesota Electronic Security and Technology Association (MNESTA) and a variety of lead roles within the security organization.
John C. Newman, Technical Sales
John joined Metro Alarm & Lock in 1996 and is now a senior technician. He began his career in the electronics industry in 1987. From 1990 to 1996, John has worked on dozens of casinos in the five-state area, providing expertise in CCTV and audiovisual systems. He has an electronics degree from Dunwoody Technical College and has attended many industry seminars and trainings.
Matt Connor, Operations Manager
Matt joined Metro Alarm as the operations manager in 2019. Before joining our team Matt ran his own security business for 6 years where he sold, installed, and serviced both residential and commercial alarm, card access, fire monitoring, and CCTV systems. Matt has over 20 years of experience in the industry as a service technician, installer, supervisor, and business owner.
Brett Seebach, Inspections Manager
Brett Seebach joined Metro Alarm & Lock in 2016 as Inspections Manager. His past experience includes being a self-employed contractor and other positions that have provided related experience that benefits Metro Alarm & Lock.
Jamie Ebensteiner, Locksmith Division Manager
Jamie came to Metro Alarm & Lock in 2014 with 13 years of prior experience as a locksmith. He has been instrumental in building Metro’s locksmith division.
Barb Griffith – Customer Service Representative
Barb joined our team in February 2012. Feel free to contact her when you need to put your system in test, update your emergency call list or account information, property management changes and initial billing questions. She answers our main phone and is a good first point of contact. She’s very happy being of service to our customers!
