Metro Alarm & Lock Security System Services: A History of Excellence
Metro Alarm & Lock was organized in 1974 by Jim & Kathryn Hoeppner. The company reached sales of almost a million in 1996 and had 20 plus employees. At this time the company was ending a several year franchise arrangement with Dictograph Security Systems due to it being sold to Tyco who owns ADT.
In 1998 Jim and Kathryn asked Tom Bonwell and John Newman to become partners in Metro Alarm & Lock. They agreed and Metro Alarm & Lock Contractors, Inc. was formed. The focus at that time was on new construction, continuing in that vein until 2001.
In 2001, we down sized and made a renewed effort to build on the basic security alarm business that had built the original Metro Alarm & Lock. The focus that was on fire alarm and new construction turned now to our familiar basic security work with established clients. The overall strength of the company was its years of experience.
Today we continue UL Certification of fire alarm and fire sprinkler alarm system monitoring. The new Fire Radio – without the need for phone lines – has become a new focus, as well as cellular and internet monitoring.
Management: Our management team is lead by Jim Hoeppner with his 40 years of industry experience. Together, the partnership has over 100 years of experience to offer our customers.
Operations: Thomas Bonwell, VP of Operations holds the line on our quality and installation procedures. With the focus of “do it once right” for our clients needs.
Service Department: Our focus on the service end of fire alarm, access control, camera, and security systems. Every day our team reviews all the signals sent to central station, looking for panel troubles, missing auto test signals, and other alarm issues. Often we are able to alert the customer of a problem before they were aware of it. Our service techs are all factory trained and continue their training in-house. They are all licensed or registered with the state of Minnesota.
John Newman is our senior service tech with special attention to camera systems.
Our service department is available to service our monitored customers 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.
Sales Department: Unlike most companies we deal with our sales as a team. We all focus on our existing clients first and continue to seek out new clients. We work together to solve the needs of all clients, utilizing the expertise of our various team members: Jim Sr., Jim Jr., Tom, John, Gary, and techs.
