Protecting businesses and homes since 1974
Metro Alarm & Lock was organized in 1974 by Jim & Kathryn Hoeppner. The company reached sales of almost one million dollars in 1996 and had more than twenty employees. At the time, Metro Alarm & Lock was ending a several-year franchise arrangement with Dictograph Security Systems due to it being sold to Tyco which also owns ADT.
In 1998, Jim and Kathryn asked Tom Bonwell and John Newman to become partners in Metro Alarm & Lock. They agreed and Metro Alarm & Lock Contractors, Inc. was formed. The focus at that time was on new construction, continuing in that vein until 2001.
In 2001, we down-sized and made a renewed effort to build on our years of experience in the security alarm business which had been the foundation for the original Metro Alarm & Lock.
Today, we continue provide the best security and monitoring in the Twin Cities with dedicated professionals, a commitment to customer service, UL Certification, and state-of-the-art monitoring through radio, cellular, and Internet technology.
